Contemporary Devices Company, Inc.

Contemporary Devices Company, Inc. (CDCI) was founded in 2000 under the name Sensor Group from grants and private funding primarily for the purpose of performing research and development in the field of Mass Spectrometry and Electrochemical Gas Analysis. CDCI was incorporated in 2007. Until recently it was located in the Business Technology Center, a facility established and operated by the County of Los Angeles which provides laboratory spaces and business resources. At the present time it is headquartered in 3755 Los Olivos Ln., La Crescenta, CA 91214-1733 and is in the process of moving to a new premises which is more suitable for environmental work.


At present, CDCI is engaged in the following endeavors:

  • Development and marketing of mass spectrometry and nanotechnology based sensors, as well as conventional electrochemical sensors.
  • The import and export of specialized advanced scientific instruments.
  • Basic research and development in the field of atomic and molecular collision physics.
  • Construction of systems to acquire, communicate, and log the presence of harmful gases such as Greenhouse Gases and poisonous chemicals.
